Javier Tebas Responds to Real Madrid
Thursday 03-07-2025
The president of the Spanish League, Javier Tebas, responded to Real Madrid's demands regarding the postponement of the team's opening match in the Spanish league against Osasuna, given their participation in the Club World Cup.

Tebas said: "They want more days of rest, yet they earn 140 million euros from their participation in the Club World Cup, which is an amount equivalent to double the budget of a club like Deportivo Alavés, and still, they are asking for more time to prepare."

Real Madrid is in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup, and if the team continues in the tournament, the players of the royal team will not have enough rest like the other clubs before the start of the new season.

The Spanish league will kick off on August 17, knowing that the final match of the Club World Cup will be on July 13.
