The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) officially announced the appointment of Dutch referee Danny Makkelie to manage the match between Saudi Al-Hilal and Brazilian Fluminense, scheduled to take place on Friday as part of the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

This is the second match that Makkelie will officiate for Al-Hilal during the tournament, having previously managed the team's match against Pachuca from Mexico in the last round.

Al-Hilal successfully secured the match against Pachuca with a clean two-goal victory, with both goals scored by star Salem Al-Dawsari and Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, thus booking a ticket to the quarter-finals.

During that match, Makkelie issued four yellow cards, including two to Al-Hilal players Khalidou Koulibaly and Renan Lodi, in a match that witnessed intense competition between the two sides.
