The 29-year-old player has a release clause of 25 million euros that is valid until mid-July, and Barcelona has not yet made an official offer.

Barcelona's coach Hans Flick wishes to strengthen the team with a strong and fast player in the supporting full-back position, and Dumfries is considered a tailored option for him. This interest comes after securing the signing of goalkeeper Juan Garcia and nearing the acquisition of Nico Williams.

Barcelona has multiple options in the full-back position, including Koundé, Eric Garcia, and Hector Fort on the right side, and Balde and Gerard Martin on the left side.

Despite Dumfries' high salary, his release clause of 25 million euros may present a suitable opportunity to enhance Barcelona's squad with a distinguished player capable of playing in multiple positions.
