First Comment from Moamen Soliman After the Draw with Al-Qasim
The head coach of Al-Shorta Club, Egyptian Moamen Soliman, expressed his complete satisfaction with what his team has achieved during the 2024-2025 football season, confirming that the draw against Al-Qasim does not diminish the value of the great work that culminated in winning the Iraqi league title for the fourth consecutive time.
In statements after the last match in round 38, which ended in a positive draw of 2-2 against Al-Qasim, Soliman said:
"We had a long and tough season and succeeded in achieving the main goal, which is to maintain the league title, and this is credited to all team members, including players, technical staff, and management."
He added:
"The last match against Al-Qasim was not easy, and some fatigue was evident, especially after the official crowning, which is natural at the end of the season, yet we were close to winning until the last minutes."
Regarding his overall assessment of the team during the season, he clarified:
"The season was not always perfect, but we knew how to bounce back at crucial moments, we played great matches, and we achieved decisive victories, especially against direct competitors, and I believe the team showed the character of a champion many times."
Early Preparations and Continental Participation
Regarding the upcoming phase, Moamen Soliman emphasized that the focus now should shift towards serious preparation for the new season, confirming that the team is facing major challenges.
He said:
"We are waiting to finalize the participation in the AFC Champions League, as well as the Arab Club Championship, and if the club decides to enter these competitions, we will face a huge challenge that requires high-level physical and mental preparation."
The Egyptian coach pointed out that the work in the upcoming period will focus on studying the players' conditions, determining the team's needs for reinforcements, and discussing an advanced training camp that may be held outside Iraq.
He concluded his remarks by saying:
"I am very proud of this group and happy to have won the title. We always aspire for greater achievements, and we will work to make a commendable appearance in any tournament where we represent both Al-Shorta and Iraq."
