The Police Club concluded its season in the Iraqi Stars League with an exciting draw against its guest Al-Qasim with a score of (2-2), in the match that brought the two teams together this evening at the International Shaab Stadium, as part of the thirty-eighth and final round of the competition.

Although the Police was close to ending the match with a comfortable victory, the final moments turned the tables, bringing Al-Qasim back into the game with a last-minute equalizer from a penalty kick, snatching a valuable point at the end of the season.

The first half saw a clear advantage for the defending champion, as the team managed to impose its attacking style from the start, earning a penalty that Syrian star Mahmoud Mawas successfully converted into the first goal in the 15th minute, putting the Police ahead.

The Police continued to press in the second half, amidst timid attempts from Al-Qasim to respond. The second goal came from striker Muhammad Dawood in the 73rd minute, enhancing the green team's lead and putting them in a relatively comfortable position.

Despite being two goals down, Al-Qasim did not give up and showed a desire to equalize in the final minutes. Haidar Abdul Rahim managed to reduce the deficit in the 87th minute, giving his team a glimmer of hope.

In the 98th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Al-Qasim, which Hussein Abdul Wahid successfully executed amidst objections from the Police fans, announcing the equalizing goal in a dramatic moment that ended the guest team's season.

Although the Police had secured the league title early, the draw at the end of the journey came with a bitter taste, especially after squandering a two-goal lead, highlighting the team's need to reorganize some defensive aspects before embarking on its potential Asian adventure.

As for Al-Qasim, they concluded their season with a morale-boosting point from a difficult stadium and against the champion of the competition, confirming that they are a team capable of presenting competitive levels against the top teams.
