Wednesday 02-07-2025
Giraud excelled in the match against Monterrey, Mexico, scoring two goals during the game that took place early Wednesday morning as part of the Round of 16 of the tournament.

With this victory, Borussia Dortmund secured their place in the quarter-finals, where they will face a strong match against Real Madrid, in an anticipated clash in the Club World Cup.

Giraud etched his name in the tournament's records, becoming the second African player to score two goals for a European club in an international club tournament, an achievement that has been absent from the African continent for 25 years.

South African Quinton Fortune was the first to achieve this record when he scored a brace for Manchester United against Melbourne, Australia, on October 11, 2000, during the Club World Cup.
