Officially.. Barcelona Announces the Loan of Its Goalkeeper
Barcelona announced in an official statement that it has reached an agreement with Spanish club Granada to loan young goalkeeper Ander Astralaga until June 30, 2026.
Astralaga (born in 2004 in Berango - Basque Country) joined Barcelona's academy in the summer of 2018, coming from the youth ranks of Athletic Bilbao, where he progressed through the age categories until reaching the Barcelona Athletic team, with which he made his debut in March 2022 against Real Betis Deportivo.
Since his debut, Astralaga has played a total of 38 matches with the reserve team: 3 matches in the 2022/23 season, 16 in 2023/24, and 18 in the recently concluded 2024/25 season.
Although he has not participated in official matches with the first team, he has been included in coach Hans Flick's squad on several occasions and participated in last summer's preparatory tour, where he played his first friendly match against Manchester City.
The loan to Granada aims to provide him with continuity and the opportunity to develop in a competitive environment, with the hope that he will return more mature and ready to face greater challenges in the future.
