Militao Approaches Return to the Field

Real Madrid continues to gradually recover its injured players, as Brazilian Eder Militao is on the verge of returning to participate with the team after a long absence of 234 days due to his second injury to the cruciate ligament, according to Spanish newspaper "AS".

Recently, German defender Antonio Rudiger returned to matches against Salzburg after recovering from meniscus surgery, which provides coach Xabi Alonso with more defensive options, and it seems that Alonso is seriously considering relying on a three-defender system for the upcoming season.

Militao suffered a severe knee injury last season, but it occurred in a different knee than the first injury, which helped expedite his recovery process, as he returned to training just 195 days after the injury, and now, the newspaper indicates that he is very close to being included in the squad for the upcoming match against Juventus.

Despite his increasing physical readiness, Militao prefers to return cautiously without rushing, to avoid any new setbacks, as he had participated in more than 80% of the match minutes at the beginning of last season, which is believed to have contributed to his injury.

Xabi Alonso sees Militao as a key element in his defensive plan for the new season, alongside names like Rudiger, Hausen, and Asensio, in addition to Tchouaméni, who has gained additional experience in the center-back position.
