Chelsea has qualified for the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup after defeating Benfica 4-1 in the match held on Saturday evening in the Round of 16 of the tournament.

Chelsea took the lead through Reece James in the 64th minute with a direct free kick, before the match was halted in the 85th minute for two hours due to bad weather conditions.

After resuming the match, the referee awarded a penalty to Benfica after consulting the video technology in the 90+5 minute, which Ángel Di María converted to equalize for Benfica.

In the 92nd minute of the first extra time, Benfica played with ten men after the expulsion of Bragança, then Christopher Nkunku scored the second goal for the Blues in the 108th minute of the second extra time.

In the 114th minute, Pedro Neto scored the third goal for Chelsea, while Kearney scored the fourth goal for the Blues in the 117th minute.

Chelsea will play against Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.
