Students to Face Al-Qasim Tomorrow in the Star League Competitions
Saturday 28-06-2025
Al-Zawraa Stadium in the capital Baghdad will host an anticipated match on Sunday, June 29, 2025, as part of the 37th round of the Iraqi Star League, bringing together the teams of Al-Students and Al-Qasim at 7:00 PM. This match carries a lot of artistic significance and football messages, despite being outside the critical calculations in the standings.

The Al-Students team, led by their veteran coach Basim Qasim, nicknamed 'The General', has had one of its best seasons in recent years, after a long period of administrative and technical decline. The blue team has regained its well-known identity, achieving positive results and stability in performance, thanks to a blend of young players and experienced ones who have shown high-level performance in various matches.

Al-Students currently occupies the fourth position with 60 points, with a real opportunity to participate in an external tournament next season, which would mark a historic return for the team on the continental or Gulf level after a long absence of several years. The match against Al-Qasim is seen as an ideal opportunity to end the season positively and officially enhance their continental chances.

On the other hand, Al-Qasim Club has undoubtedly been one of the biggest surprises of the Iraqi Star League this season. Under the leadership of the great Syrian coach Ayman Al-Hakeem, the team has succeeded in defying expectations and recording remarkable results against the league's top teams; they defeated Al-Zawraa both home and away, took down Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and drew with Al-Shorta, confirming that they are a team to be reckoned with.

Al-Qasim currently sits in ninth place with 51 points, showcasing impressive performances from a group of young players who have proven their technical maturity and self-confidence, making the team a tough opponent for everyone, and one of the most exciting teams this season.

Although the match does not carry significant pressure for both teams in terms of standings, it will have a strong competitive character, especially with Al-Students' clear desire to secure their Asian position on one hand, and Al-Qasim's pursuit to continue their positive results against top teams on the other.

The confrontation will also be a clash between two coaching schools: the Iraqi experience represented by Basim Qasim, versus the tactical calm of the Syrian approach led by Ayman Al-Hakeem, which promises a high-level match from a technical perspective.

Al-Students fans hope to conclude the season with a new victory that boosts the team's confidence before upcoming challenges, while Al-Qasim supporters are waiting for another surprise from their remarkable performances this season.
