Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Atletico Madrid reached a final agreement with Villarreal to sign Spanish star Alex Baena during the summer transfer window.
Romano mentioned on his official account on X that the deal cost the Madrid club 45 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons.
The source added that the final administrative aspects are currently being completed in preparation for the player to undergo a medical examination.
It is worth noting that Baena had given his initial approval to join Atletico several weeks ago, thus completing the third signing for the Rojiblancos this summer following the signings of Requielmi Cardoso and Federico Rogeri.
