As the dramatic season comes to an end, which witnessed a strong struggle for the Iraqi Premier League title, the temporary administrative body of Al-Zawraa Club has resolved several important issues concerning the future of the team, foremost among them being the fate of the team captain and national team goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, as well as the future of coach Haidar Ubaid, who led the "Nawaris" during a difficult period of the season.

Ghaith Abdul Ghani, a member of the temporary administrative body of Al-Zawraa Club, stated in exclusive remarks to the "winwin" website: "We congratulate Al-Police Club on winning the Iraqi Premier League title for the fourth consecutive season, and we at Al-Zawraa worked with everything we have, hoping to be crowned with the title, but the team’s fate was to be the runner-up in a difficult season filled with challenges, which is also considered an achievement given the limited resources we have compared to other major clubs."

Abdul Ghani clarified: "The team maintained its technical stability despite the difficult start and administrative changes, and we managed to hold on until the last round, and this is credited to the technical staff and the players who gave their all, and we will consider what we went through this season an important lesson to benefit from in preparation for a new season that we hope will be different."

Regarding the future of coach Haidar Ubaid, he added: "Haidar Ubaid delivered an exceptional coaching performance this season, managing to maintain the unity and cohesion of the group after the departure of coach Issam Hamad, and he even competed for the title until the last rounds. If we continue in management, we will certainly hold onto his services, but if a new body comes in, it will be in their hands, but we have recommended keeping him within the team."

On the fate of international goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, Abdul Ghani confirmed: "Jalal Hassan is one of the main pillars of the team, and he is a leader in every sense of the word. Since joining Al-Zawraa in 2017, he has represented stability and balance on the pitch, and we believe in the necessity of his staying with the team, and we hope to succeed in renewing his contract, which ends at the end of this season."

He continued: "Jalal represents not only a technical value but also a moral value for the team, and he enjoys great confidence from the national team coach Graham Arnold, so his continuation with Al-Zawraa is important to us on all levels, and it will be among the priorities of the current or upcoming management."

Abdul Ghani concluded his remarks by saying: "We have provided a set of recommendations to the management that will take over after us, because we believe in the principle of establishment rather than personalization, and we aspire for Al-Zawraa to return as champions in the coming season, as this season's second place should be a starting point and not the end of our ambitions."

It is worth noting that Al-Zawraa is in second place with 74 points, securing this position two rounds before the end of the league, which grants them a ticket for Asian participation, while awaiting to strengthen the squad and stabilize the technical staff to launch towards the title in the upcoming season.
