Portuguese star Rafael Liao, winger for AC Milan, is causing widespread controversy within the halls of Bayern Munich regarding the possibility of signing him in the summer transfer market.

Recently, there were advanced discussions between Bayern Munich’s management and the player’s representatives before the UEFA Champions League final, but the communication has stopped for three weeks, leading to a sense of frustration for Liao, despite his explicit welcome to join the German club.

Liao enjoys significant support from fans due to his technical skills and remarkable speed, yet some club leaders express reservations about his fit with Bayern's style, pointing to his weak defensive contributions and behaviors on and off the pitch, in addition to his recent decline in role with Milan and the Portuguese national team.

This comes amid increasing pressure on Bayern’s management to strengthen the team’s attacking lineup, especially after the failure of the Florian Wirtz deal, as sporting director Max Eberl has returned from the United States to conduct crucial negotiations with player agents.

Alongside Liao, Bayern Munich continues to explore other alternatives such as Jamie Gettiniez, winger for Borussia Dortmund, who is close to joining Chelsea, complicating the club's task in the summer transfer market.
