The Portuguese star João Félix has triggered a wide reaction across social media after appearing in a video documenting a dangerous moment during a boating trip with friends in the United States.

Félix was seen in the video, which he shared via the 'story' feature on his Instagram account, approaching a hammerhead shark with two of his friends, as they held it by the head before releasing it back into the water.

In another clip, believed to be of the same shark, a violent struggle was shown as the shark was caught on a fishing hook, violently colliding with the boat's structure. The Chelsea player appeared to be pleased with the situation.

Despite the unclear circumstances surrounding the incident – whether it was a recreational adventure or an attempt to help the animal – many followers expressed their discomfort with the scene, voicing concerns about the treatment of the endangered marine creature.
