Cazorla Leads Real Oviedo to La Liga After 24 Years
Real Oviedo has qualified for the Spanish league next season after defeating Mirandés 3-1 in the second leg of the promotion playoff final.
The first leg had ended with a 1-0 victory for Mirandés.
Mirandés managed to score the opening goal through Joaquín Panichelli in the 16th minute, then Oviedo equalized with a penalty successfully executed by Santi Cazorla in the 39th minute.
In the 52nd minute, Elias Shaira scored a second goal for Oviedo, leading both teams to extra time, during which Oviedo scored a third goal in the 103rd minute by Francisco Portillo.
Oviedo returns to the Spanish league for the first time since 2001.
