Al-Nasr Loses One of Its Coaching Options Following Pioli
Saturday 21-06-2025
Saudi Al-Nasr Club received an unexpected blow in the coaching market after Nottingham Forest officially announced the extension of their Portuguese coach Nuno Santo's contract until 2028, thereby putting an end to the rumors linking his name to a new destination in the Middle East.

Recently, Nuno Santo topped the list of candidates to coach Al-Nasr, potentially replacing Italian Stefano Pioli, amid the ambitions of 'the global' to sign a coach with a rich record capable of returning the team to continental and local competition.

Nottingham Forest published an official statement confirming the renewal of Nuno Santo's contract until the end of the 2027-2028 season, closing the door on all external offers, including Al-Nasr's offer, which was anticipating a decisive move during the summer.

Nuno Santo led Nottingham Forest in 68 matches, achieving 29 wins, 14 draws, and 25 losses, a record that the English club's management deemed sufficient to ensure his continuation.

With Nuno Santo remaining in England, Al-Nasr's management must now search for an alternative name that meets the aspirations of fans, who had high hopes for signing a coach with a strong personality and extensive experience in European leagues.
