Fines and Suspensions Hit Al-Hilal After AFC Semi-Final Events
The Saudi Al-Hilal Club has received a series of disciplinary penalties from the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Asian Football Confederation, following the infractions that occurred during their recent match against Al-Ahli in the AFC Champions League semi-final.
According to sports journalist Badr Balabeed, the committee has decided to impose a financial fine of 8,000 US dollars, equivalent to about 30,000 Saudi riyals, due to two clear violations committed by the team during the match.
The first violation involved eight Al-Hilal players receiving disciplinary cards during the match, while the second pertains to the team's delay in returning to the pitch at the start of the second half, with the delay lasting one minute and twenty seconds.
The penalties were not limited to the players only, as a decision was made to suspend Mohannad Al-Rasheed, one of Al-Hilal's officials, for one match, in addition to fining him an amount of 2,000 dollars, after he was sent off for inappropriate behavior that involved kicking an object on the field.
The committee decided to defer the implementation of the suspension for Mohannad Al-Rasheed to the upcoming 2025-2026 football season, meaning that the club will start its next season affected by these measures.
