Fiery Attack on Renard and the Saudi National Team
Saturday 21-06-2025
Ahmad Al-Tayef, the former star and sports critic, directed harsh criticisms at the coach of the Saudi national team, Hervé Renard, considering that the latter's continuation hinders any technical development in the performance of the Green team during the current period.

In his intervention through the program "Dourina Ghair," Al-Tayef stated that Renard is no longer providing any technical additions, emphasizing that his ideas have become repetitive and do not keep pace with the rapid changes in modern playing styles.

Al-Tayef pointed out that the performance lacks diversity and innovation, confirming that "the Saudi national team does not have any clear fingerprint, and the coach's tactical options are strange and ineffective on the field."

He added: "Renard's style has become outdated and transparent to opponents, and I see no signs of a technical project capable of creating a competitive team in the near future."

On another note, American star Marcelo Balboa joined the list of critics, expressing his dissatisfaction with the overly defensive style displayed by the Saudi national team in the Gold Cup competitions.

Balboa confirmed that the Green team lacked offensive boldness, stating: "The Saudi national team played in a purely defensive manner and did not possess the adequate tools to create plays or provide an offensive reaction after conceding goals."

He continued: "The absence of a playmaking midfielder was evident, and in light of the team's retreat to defend, there were no attempts to build play in a balanced manner."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "Balance between defense and attack is essential in modern football, but the Saudi national team completely lacked this balance after the United States' goal."
