Haider Obaid Talks About the Importance of the Karakh Match Tomorrow
Al-Zawraa team is preparing to face Al-Karkh on Friday evening at the Wizard Ahmed Rady Stadium, as part of the 36th round of the Iraqi Stars League, in a match where the "Nawaris" are looking to regain balance after drifting significantly away from the title race due to recent results that have diminished their chances of competing, despite having a generally good season.
Despite the almost lost mathematical chances, Al-Zawraa's coach Haider Obaid confirms that his team will not waste any points during the remainder of the season. He stated in a press statement before the match:
He said: "We enter the match with a strong desire to achieve a positive result, even though we are aware of the difficulty of returning to the title race. But Al-Zawraa does not know surrender, and we will fight in every match until the end, for the name of the club and its esteemed fans."
He continued: "Al-Karkh is a respectable and organized team, possessing young players who play with high spirit, especially at their home ground. We need to be cautious of their attacking style and counter-attacks, and we will play with complete tactical discipline."
He added: "We may witness some changes in the lineup, to give opportunities to those who deserve it, and also to maintain the balance of the team after the pressure of matches. Our goal is to finish the league honorably, and to build for the next season with confidence and stability."
Al-Zawraa hopes to return with full points, to at least remain in the runner-up position and maintain its prestige as one of the largest clubs in Iraq.
