Thursday 19-06-2025
Liverpool FC is close to finalizing the transfer deal for the young German star Florian Wirtz, a Bayer Leverkusen player, in one of the most notable summer transfer deals, as part of coach Arne Slot's project.

According to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Wirtz, 22 years old, has chosen to move to Liverpool, ignoring offers from Manchester City and Bayern Munich, after a decisive meeting with the Reds' coach, who presented him with a vision that convinced him to take on the new challenge at Anfield.

Wirtz is expected to receive a weekly salary estimated at £200,000, making him the third highest-paid player in the team after Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, with Liverpool adhering to its usual policy regarding salary caps.

Reports indicate that the total value of the deal will reach €150 million, with €125 million as the base amount, in addition to €15 million in bonuses, and €10 million linked to the player's performance and achieving specific goals, making it one of the most expensive deals in the club's history.

Fabrizio Romano clarified that Wirtz will undergo a medical examination in Liverpool in the coming hours, preparing for the official announcement of the deal within 48 hours.

Florian Wirtz played a prominent role in Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga title win two seasons ago, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists in various competitions, becoming one of the most prominent rising talents in European football.
