Thursday 19-06-2025
The Turkish Football Federation has faced a severe internal crisis following the collective resignation of the Disciplinary Committee due to leaks regarding intentions to take revenge on Portuguese coach José Mourinho in the upcoming season.

This move came after local media circulated images of messages via the 'WhatsApp' application, allegedly written by Demirturk, the outgoing committee president, stating: 'We will make him pay the price next season; he has been given too much leniency.'

The leaks have sparked widespread controversy in Turkish sports and media circles, given the significant attention Mourinho has received since taking over as coach of Fenerbahçe.

In light of the escalating media pressure and public opinion, the head of the Disciplinary Committee and its members had no choice but to submit their resignations, awaiting an official move from the Turkish Federation to restructure the committee and contain the crisis.

For its part, the management of Fenerbahçe demanded a formal and transparent investigation.

Despite this controversial season filled with clashes and the absence of titles, Fenerbahçe's management decided to retain Mourinho for the next season, making him the first coach in 43 years to continue with the club without winning the domestic league title.
