The Spanish goalkeeper Juan Garcia sent a farewell message to the fans of Espanyol and his club, as he prepares to move to Barcelona for 25 million euros during the summer transfer window.

Garcia said: "Today, I bid farewell to the club that has been my home since I was fifteen years old. Since then, I have strived every day to grow, not only as a football player but also as a human being."

He added: "Throughout these years, I have always tried to remain humble, to work hard, and to be worthy of the honor of defending the goal of Espanyol. I have given everything I have for this team and to represent this badge with the utmost commitment and respect, always aware of the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt."

He continued: "I realize that my decision may not be easy for everyone. I do not ask for understanding, but I just want to clarify that this decision came after deep thought, and many considerations regarding my career, my future, my family, and the club itself."

He emphasized: "It is not a farewell as much as it is the end of an important phase in my life, which I conclude with complete conviction that everything I have experienced here has helped me become a better person. You have always made me feel like I am part of something great. I leave with my heart full of gratitude, thankful for every beautiful moment and every tough challenge, as they have all shaped me into who I am today."
