The website 'Foot Mercato' revealed that FC Barcelona has reached a preliminary agreement with Spanish winger Nico Williams to join its ranks with a contract extending until 2031.

The site indicated that the 22-year-old player will sign a six-year contract, earning an annual salary of 12 million euros.

The report clarified that Barcelona, which has been trying to sign Williams for over a year, intensified its negotiations recently after president Joan Laporta was convinced of the player's insistence on wearing the Catalan team's jersey.

Williams' representatives held several meetings with Barcelona's management recently, during which the personal terms of the contract were agreed upon, and now it remains for the Catalan club to reach an agreement with Athletic Bilbao, which values its player at 60 million euros, to finalize the deal officially.
