Ramos: Real Madrid is the Strongest Candidate for the 2025 Club World Cup
Tuesday 17-06-2025
Sergio Ramos, defender of the Mexican team Monterrey, confirmed that Real Madrid is the strongest candidate to win the title of the Club World Cup 2025, noting that the royal club has a championship mentality that keeps it always at the forefront.

Ramos will begin his journey in the tournament with Monterrey against a strong opponent, Inter Milan, at 4 AM on Wednesday, Cairo time, as part of the first round of Group 5 in the group stage.

Ramos said: "Real Madrid is always the favorite to win major tournaments," adding: "Real Madrid is the best in the world, thanks to the level of the club and the players, and the mentality that has been established there for many years."

The Spanish defender spoke about coach Xabi Alonso, the current manager of Real Madrid, saying: "Xabi Alonso's task will be interesting; he has won everything as a player and knows how to manage the club."

Regarding Real Madrid's performance this season, Ramos emphasized that the team's failure to win a major title is not related to the potential signing of Kylian Mbappe, with whom he previously played at Paris Saint-Germain, explaining: "In the next five or ten years, I bet that Kylian Mbappe will win four or five Ballon d'Or awards."

Ramos concluded his statements by discussing the possibility of facing Real Madrid in the tournament, saying: "Facing your former teammates is always great, but if we don't meet, it will be much better, and we can both avoid this discomfort."
