Khaled Al-Ghandour, a former Zamalek player, criticized media personality Ahmed Shobeir and accused him of insulting Zamalek.

Al-Ghandour said in a video he broadcast on Facebook: "I was very upset with Captain Ahmed Shobeir, because he is a prominent media figure and is traveling to America to attend an important tournament, but the idea of throwing words at Zamalek is unacceptable."

He added: "You should focus on your team instead of addressing social media, especially since you are involved in important global football events, so it’s illogical that Zamalek is still on your mind."

Al-Ghandour concluded: "Zamalek is currently going through significant crises and problems, and the question is: why are people focusing on it like this?" referring to what he described as "media targeting" of the club during this critical phase.
