Imam Ashour, the star of Al Ahly, commented on the injury he sustained during the opening match of the Club World Cup against Inter Miami.

The match between Al Ahly and Inter Miami, which took place early Sunday morning in the first round of the Club World Cup, ended in a 0-0 draw.

Tests that Ashour underwent confirmed that he suffered a fracture in his collarbone.

The player said via Instagram story: "What God has destined for you will come to you, and what He has not destined for you will not affect you. Thank God for everything. The injury was tough and came in the first moments of my time in the tournament, and this is God's will, and we must accept it."

He continued: "I wished to be present and fight with my brothers on the field, but this is my fate, and now I am going in for surgery, and God willing, I will return stronger. The feeling inside me right now is not easy, but what keeps me steady is my faith in your support and prayers."

He added: "This phase needs you to stand behind every player in the team, whether old or new. They all play with their hearts and love the club and care for it. Believe me, your support makes a big difference, and the players are waiting for you just as you always stand behind us."
