The team captain, Jalal Hassan, will be absent due to an injury he sustained recently while with the Iraqi national team in the Asian qualifiers against Jordan. Meanwhile, the Cameroonian midfielder, Clarence Junior, will also be absent due to an injury he suffered recently during team training.

Additionally, another midfielder, Karrar Nabil, will miss the match due to an injury he sustained during the past period. Al-Zawraa will also miss the services of Omani striker, Al-Mundhir Rabea Al-Alawi, who remained in Oman to participate in one of the qualifiers against the Palestinian national team and will therefore be absent due to airport closures caused by recent security issues in the region.

Furthermore, the team's striker, Ali Youssef, who suffered an injury and underwent surgery in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, will be sidelined for a long time.
