War Threatens Taremi's Participation with Inter in the Club World Cup
Saturday 14-06-2025
Inter Milan is facing a major crisis regarding the absence of their Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi from the 2025 Club World Cup, due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, which has caused a halt in air travel within Iranian territory.

Taremi remains stuck in Tehran, while the Inter Milan squad has arrived in Los Angeles in preparation for the tournament, where the team will begin its campaign against Mexican Monterrey next Wednesday, in their first appearance under the new coach Cristian Chivu.

Taremi's presence in the first round match is doubtful, as he will not be able to leave Iran until the restrictions on flights are lifted in the next two days, and with the ongoing tensions, it may be impossible for the player to join the team in the United States.

Inter Milan is in a group that includes Argentine River Plate and Japanese Urawa Red Diamonds, noting that the tournament will kick off with Egyptian Al Ahly facing American Inter Miami on Saturday evening.
