Al-Habsi pointed out that Salem possesses high physical and technical capabilities, but he does not master the defensive duties required by the Italian coach's style, which could affect the team's balance.

In another development, Simone Inzaghi decided to exclude the new player Abdulkarim Darsi from the Al Hilal squad participating in the Club World Cup to be held in the United States.
