Al-Fateh Club has officially entered a heated race with its counterpart Al-Shabab to secure the services of goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, who is on loan from Al-Nassr, after the end of his current loan period.

According to press sources, Al-Fateh's management has sent an official letter to Al-Nassr's management requesting the renewal of Al-Aqidi's loan for an additional season, following his impressive performance with the Al-Ahsa team.

This move came as a quick response to reports about Al-Shabab's intention to enter negotiations to loan the international goalkeeper to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.

Al-Aqidi joined Al-Fateh during the last winter transfer window and played 16 matches in the Roshen League, successfully keeping a clean sheet twice.

With multiple clubs expressing interest in acquiring him, the uncertainty surrounding Nawaf Al-Aqidi's future increases, as he has become an important target for bolstering the goalkeeper position in several Saudi teams.
