Tuesday 10-06-2025
The English club Manchester City has officially announced its signing of Ryan Cherki, arriving from Olympique Lyonnais, with a contract extending until the summer of 2030.

Cherki, who is 21 years old, is considered one of the most prominent rising talents in European football, having participated in 185 matches with his previous team Lyon, despite his young age. The player is distinguished by his great ability to create goals, dribble, and play with both feet.

Cherki made history at Lyon as the youngest scorer in the club's history, and he also became the youngest player to participate in a UEFA Champions League semi-final. He stood out notably in Ligue 1 during the 2024/2025 season, where he was selected for the season's best XI.

Cherki also contributed to the French U21 national team's victory over England by scoring a goal and assisting others. He shone against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, scoring in both the first and second legs.

Recently, he participated with the senior French national team in the UEFA Nations League semi-final against Spain, scoring a goal in his debut appearance, before excelling in the third-place match and helping France win against Germany.

Cherki will be available to train with Pep Guardiola starting from Manchester City's participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup this summer in the United States.

The player expressed his great happiness at joining Manchester City, confirming that moving to a club of this size is a dream and a new challenge in his career.
