Officially.. Manchester City announces the signing of Marcus Bettinelli
Manchester City Football Club has officially announced its contract with Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli to compensate for the departure of Scott Carson.
The club stated in its announcement: "Manchester City has signed goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea."
It added: "The 33-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to a one-year contract and will join Pep Guardiola's team in time for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup."
It continued: "The English goalkeeper began his career at Fulham before moving to Chelsea and will now provide strong competition for Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno at City."
The goalkeeper said to the club's website: "I am honored to sign with City. I have been impressed from afar by what this club has achieved since Pep Guardiola's arrival, and I am now excited to be part of building on this success.
He concluded: "I look forward to working closely with Guardiola, Xabi Mancisidor, and the outstanding goalkeepers here, and seeing their methods up close, and I hope to contribute in training, in the locker room, and on the pitch as we look to win more titles in the coming year."
