Ranieri Decides on Coaching the Italian National Team
Tuesday 10-06-2025
The experienced Italian coach Claudio Ranieri, the former head coach of AS Roma, has made his final decision regarding the possibility of taking over the coaching of the Italian national team in the near future, following the coach Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti officially departed from coaching the Italian national team after playing his last match against Moldova on Monday, June 9, as part of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

In recent hours, Italian media reports suggested that there was communication between the Italian Football Federation and Ranieri regarding the national team coaching position, especially after Roma's strong performance under his leadership this season.

However, the Italian network "Sky Sports" revealed that Ranieri has definitively declined the offer from the Italian Football Federation and preferred to continue in his new role as a technical advisor to the management of AS Roma, in respect of his commitment to the club and its fans.

It is worth noting that the Italian national team currently occupies the third position in its group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with a total of 3 points.
