Portuguese national team star Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in a press statement after winning the UEFA Nations League title against Spain in a penalty shootout, following a 2-2 draw.

Ronaldo said in his remarks: "Of course, I feel very happy. We had great aspirations represented by winning such a title; this generation deserves this title. This title is for my family and my children, for the fans and the families of the players."

He added: "I have won many championships with clubs and many individual awards, but winning with Portugal is unmatched by anything."

He continued: "Playing with the national team and representing the country is a great honor, and being the captain of this generation is an indescribable pride. This title means a lot to me."

He added: "I was suffering from a slight injury during warm-ups, which worsened during the match, but I did everything I could to help the team. If it required breaking my leg for Portugal... I would do it."

He concluded regarding his future: "Now is the time to rest from this injury and celebrate the title; I will think about my future another time. I am really happy."
