Luwai Mashabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ittihad Club, announced his final decision regarding his continuation in his position after the end of the 2024-25 football season.

He stated in an official statement that he would not continue as president of Al-Ittihad Club due to the difficulty of balancing his professional duties with this responsibility.

In his statement, Mashabi said: "The honor of presiding over the esteemed Al-Ittihad Club is a great responsibility that God has bestowed upon me, and I have been honored to bear it. God has blessed me with men and women in my board of directors for the profit-making company and the non-profit institution, as well as in the executive and technical management of the club, who have carried most of the tasks with inspiring dedication, and words fail me to express my gratitude and appreciation to them."

He continued: "I have sincerely sought to continue in the honor of presiding over Al-Ittihad Club, but balancing my professional duties with this noble responsibility has become beyond my capacity."

He added: "Therefore, out of my love for this esteemed entity and my respect for it, I regret to announce my inability to continue in my position, and I am confident that under the existing institutional work, the stability of the executive and sports administration, and the continuity of most board members, the journey will continue steadfastly, God willing, and achievements will be preserved and built upon."

He also mentioned in his statement: "I thank the men of Al-Ittihad, and whoever is elected to the presidency will find my full support, and I apologize for any shortcomings."
