Tottenham Hotspur announced today, officially, the dismissal of Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou from his position, after two years in which he led the team since joining in the summer of 2023 from Scottish club Celtic.

Postecoglou achieved notable success with Tottenham, as he restored the team's attacking style of play and led the club to win the European League last month, becoming the third coach in the club's history to win a European trophy.

Despite this achievement, the club clarified in its statement that the decision came after a comprehensive performance evaluation, as the team collected only 78 points from the last 66 matches in the Premier League, which led to the worst ranking in the history of its participation in the competition, amid challenging circumstances such as injuries and the team's focus on the European competition.

The Tottenham board confirmed that the decision was not easy, but it was made in the best interest of the club to enhance the chances of success in the upcoming season and compete in all tournaments.

The club concluded its statement by thanking Postecoglou for his contributions during his time with the team, affirming that he will always be welcome at the club, with the announcement of the new coach to be made in due course.
