The Spanish club Real Madrid is close to signing the young Argentine star Franco Mastantuono, a player from River Plate, during the summer transfer window.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca", the 17-year-old player is ready to travel to Spain to sign with Real Madrid, after reaching a full agreement between him and the royal club, with only the understanding between the two clubs' management remaining.

The release clause in Mastantuono's contract with River Plate is 45 million euros, and negotiations are currently underway regarding the payment mechanism.

The newspaper pointed out that Mastantuono has requested Real Madrid to allow him to participate in the Club World Cup with River Plate, with the intention of joining the Merengues after the tournament ends.

Mastantuono is well aware of the role that awaits him at Real Madrid, following a conversation he had with coach Xabi Alonso, which contributed to his decision to join the Spanish club at the beginning of the next season.

It is worth noting that Paris Saint-Germain has withdrawn from the race to sign the player, considering that the release clause is too high.

Mastantuono has played 19 matches with River Plate in various competitions, scoring 7 goals and assisting 4 others.
