Shobeir Comments on the Anticipated Match Between Zamalek and Pyramids
Ahmed Shobeir, the former Al Ahly star, spoke about the match scheduled for this evening in the Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and Pyramids.
Shobeir said via "On Sport FM" radio: "Zamalek is betting today on the idea of possession and shooting from outside the box, and you remember some people used to say that Ahmed El-Shenawy conceded goals from easy shots, but I go back and say that Ahmed El-Shenawy had a great match in the Africa final."
He continued: "The match is very balanced, and don't tell me Pyramids is in great form or any of that. They are playing against Zamalek with its name, history, and fans, not just any competitor."
He added: "Now, what is the role of the fans in this match? The fans mean Zamalek, and the fans who attended the match between Pyramids and Sundowns is another thing; that was a national mission. Pyramids is playing in the continental final, but today, at most, they will have 2000 fans, while the stadium will be filled with Zamalek fans."
He concluded: "We hope to see a heavyweight match and a fair sports competition, and we want to see people responding to all the rumors that circulated after the match between Zamalek and Pyramids in the league, and for those who don't know what happened in the league match, what was the goal, and what the story is. I am confident that this will happen, God willing."
