Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour stated that a meeting was held at Al Ahly between the coaching staff and Mohamed Youssef, the club's sporting director, to finalize the team's roster for the Club World Cup.

Al-Ghandour continued during the program "Stadium of the Axis": "We learned from sources inside Al Ahly that the Spanish coach Jose Ribeiro requested to limit the traveling squad to only 26 players, aiming to maintain the focus of the camp and prepare each player individually and accurately. Ribeiro believes that the proposed number is sufficient technically and physically to meet the team's needs during the preparation period and matches."

He added: "On the other hand, the football management at Al Ahly sees the necessity of increasing the number of players to 28 or even 30, given that 26 players are listed for each match, which makes having three goalkeepers on the bench impractical and reduces the available tactical options in other positions."

He concluded: "The final names that will travel tomorrow to the United States were decided in the meeting, and they are expected to be announced officially within hours."
