The Egyptian Football Association announced the start and end dates of the new football season 2025/2026 during a board meeting with the Premier League clubs, in the presence of the Egyptian Clubs Association.

The federation set August 15 as the start date for the Egyptian League, with the season concluding in May 2026.

It was decided to grant clubs participating in African competitions 3 days of rest before league matches if the continental match is held within Egypt, and 4 days if the match is outside the country, to provide a suitable time margin between competitions.

It was also agreed to hold the preliminary rounds of the Egypt Cup and the Capital Cup during the international breaks for the national team.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly Club was crowned the Egyptian League title last season for the 45th time in its history.

The new season will witness the participation of 21 teams in the Premier League, which will be held in a two-group system, where all teams will play matches in the first round together, and in the second round, they will be divided into two groups, the first consisting of the top 7 teams competing for the title, and the second from the eighth position to the 21st to determine the relegated teams.
