French coach Hervé Renard has called up Al-Ettifaq defender Abdullah Mado to join the Saudi national team camp, as part of the preparations for the upcoming match against Bahrain in the Asian qualifiers.

The decision to include Mado came after player Jihad Dhakri was ruled out due to a muscle injury sustained during his recent participation with Al-Qadisiyah in the King Cup final.

Dhakri suffered a tear in his hamstring, which necessitated his exclusion from the current squad, opening the door for Mado to strengthen the national team's defense ahead of the anticipated clash.

The Saudi national team continues its preparations for the awaited match against Bahrain, scheduled for next Thursday, as part of the ninth round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Renard relies on the stability of the lineup and his defensive options, as the Green looks to continue its positive results and ensure progress in its journey towards World Cup qualification.
