Lunin Considers Leaving Real Madrid Despite Contract Renewal
Monday 02-06-2025
Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is considering leaving Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, despite recently renewing his contract until 2030, according to Spanish newspaper "AS".

Lunin feels uncertain about his future within the royal team, especially with Belgian Thibaut Courtois continuing as the first-choice goalkeeper, even with Xabi Alonso taking over as the team's head coach following Carlo Ancelotti's departure.

Despite renewing his contract last September and receiving a salary increase, the 26-year-old Lunin has not managed to secure a starting position in the team, prompting him to keep the door open for a departure if a suitable offer arises during the summer transfer window, as the club does not oppose selling him for financial gain from the deal.

Lunin is expected to get opportunities to play if Courtois, who is 32 years old, is absent, while Turkish club Galatasaray has shown interest in signing him, with the likelihood of more offers coming in after his participation in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
