Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, has reiterated his stance against engaging in unnecessary deals during the summer transfer market, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing within the team given the current situation of the club.

In statements reported by the Spanish newspaper "AS", Deco clarified that Barcelona is not seeking to sign players just to make deals, but rather operates under a clear strategy that ensures development and ongoing competition.

Deco stated: "No club will win every year, but the most important thing is to maintain competitiveness. At Barcelona, we have the opportunity to grow and develop for many years, but we must not fall into the trap of signing players without need; we need to know what we have and what we want to achieve."

The sporting director pointed out that the management is currently prioritizing the renewal of contracts for players who represent the present and future of the team, clarifying that the club is not interested in signing striker Viktor Ghiocares from Sporting Lisbon at this time.

He added: "There are some internal issues that need to be addressed first, focusing on strengthening the team's roster in line with its real needs."
