The Argentine Emiliano Martinez, goalkeeper of Aston Villa, was awarded the Save of the Season for the current 2024/2025 Premier League season after his exceptional save against Nottingham Forest.

The save occurred during his team's match against Nottingham when Martinez successfully deflected a powerful header from Nicolas Dominguez just centimeters from the goal line, following a corner kick, in a moment described as one of the best in the history of the competition.

Martinez also received the Save of the Month award for December for the same save, marking the first time he has won the monthly award.

Martinez won the award after receiving the highest percentage of votes from fans, along with a rating from a panel of football experts, surpassing several other goalkeepers, including Kepa, Martin Dubravka, Andre Onana, David Raya, Robert Sanchez, and Vicario.
