Mohamed Simakan's Permanent Move to Al-Nassr
Mohamed Simakan, who was on loan to Al-Nassr from the German club Leipzig, confirmed his permanent transfer to the global club.
Al-Nassr had signed Simakan on loan from Leipzig with an option to buy last summer.
Simakan stated in remarks to the "Al-Nassr Statement" platform via the "X" website: "I have no problem playing alongside a Saudi center-back, provided he possesses high quality that helps us succeed in matches."
He added: "I was on loan to Al-Nassr with a purchase option, and recently this clause was activated. I believe the turning point for me was in the match against Al-Ahli, when I felt an injury and left the field. I was very sad about the draw, but the fans' confidence pushed me to return stronger, and from here my special relationship with Al-Nassr's fans began."
The French defender continued: "Al-Nassr has purchased my contract, and I will continue with the team for the next four years, and I am happy with this decision."
Regarding his teammates, Simakan said: "Laporte is the best defender I have played alongside, perhaps because we are from the same nationality, which made communication and harmony easier for me, but overall I see that Klostermann, my former teammate at Leipzig, is the best."
On the reason for joining the Saudi league, he said: "I was confident in the Saudi project, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival. All of Europe began to look at the Saudi league differently after he spoke about it, so I do not regret coming, despite the many offers I received from Europe."
