Reports have revealed that FC Barcelona is interested in signing Alex Remiro, the goalkeeper of Real Sociedad, as the Catalan club seeks to strengthen its goalkeeping position during the upcoming transfer window.

Barcelona had previously been linked with the signing of Juan Garcia, the Espanyol goalkeeper, but the current situation within the team has made him hesitant about his chances of participation, as Barca is close to extending Wojciech Szczesny's contract for an additional season, alongside Marc-André ter Stegen nearing a full return to fitness, prompting Garcia to seek clear guarantees regarding his role before making his final decision.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Barcelona has placed Remiro as an alternative option, as he is viewed, like Garcia, as a potential long-term successor to Ter Stegen.

Remiro is 30 years old and is contracted with Real Sociedad until 2027. This season, he has participated in 49 matches across various competitions, during which he has conceded 64 goals.
