Al Ahly star Mohamed Magdy Afsha expressed his happiness after winning the Egyptian League shield on Wednesday evening, confirming that the shield is a gift for the fans who stand behind the team in all situations.

Afsha said in television statements: "It was a tough championship, and we succeeded in winning the title in the final moments. Personally, I always strive to work hard and give every drop of sweat for these precious moments for all of us."

He continued: "The joy of the fans today is our gift and a reward from God Almighty for the great effort made by everyone."

For his part, Ashraf Ben Sharqi confirmed that he is happy and proud to win the league shield after the 6-0 victory over Farco, which delighted Al Ahly fans in the stands of Cairo Stadium.

Ben Sharqi said: "Winning the league shield today came rightfully and deservedly, thanks to the cooperation and fighting spirit among all the players."

He added: "I am extremely proud to play for Al Ahly and with my teammates in the team, and we promise the fans more championships and titles. God willing, the joy will continue, and we will make them happy in the Club World Cup."
