English club Chelsea has officially joined the race to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike, the star of Eintracht Frankfurt, during the upcoming summer transfer window, amid strong interest from major English clubs.

Ekitike is 22 years old and has caught attention this season with his remarkable performance, making him a target for clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal, before the Blues entered into serious negotiations with the German club's management.

According to Sky Sports today, Chelsea has begun official talks with Frankfurt to sign the promising striker, whose price is estimated at 100 million euros, a figure that the German club insists on receiving.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is facing financial difficulties that prevent the completion of the deal at the moment, as they require the sale of one of their strikers, such as Darwin Nunez or Diogo Jota, to generate the necessary funds.

It is worth noting that Ekitike participated in 48 matches last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in various competitions.
