Spanish newspaper 'AS' reported that Marc Bernal, the young midfielder of Barcelona, will return to the fields sooner than expected after suffering a cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of the current season.

The newspaper clarified that the recovery period for the 18-year-old player is progressing at an accelerated pace, which could reduce his absence by about two months, allowing him to be ready to participate with the first team in the new season.

The newspaper also confirmed that Barcelona plans to make Bernal the first signing of the next season, as they will sign him to a contract that extends until 2029, and he will receive an official number in the team's lineup.
