Statements by Pioli After the Loss to Al-Fateh
Stefano Pioli, the coach of Al-Nassr, expressed his dissatisfaction with the results achieved by his team during the season.
Al-Nassr lost to Al-Fateh with a score of 3-2 in a match held on Monday evening in the 34th and final round of the Roshan Saudi League.
Pioli said during the press conference after the match against Al-Fateh: "We aimed to end the season with a victory, but we did not achieve our goal."
Regarding not substituting star Cristiano Ronaldo despite his modest performance, he replied: "The changes I made were the most suitable in my opinion."
He continued: "I thank the players for the effort they put in throughout the season. We were not successful in achieving our goals, but they deserve appreciation."
He added: "Our ambitions were high; we wanted to reach the final of the AFC Champions League and win one of the local titles, but we did not achieve any of them. I am not satisfied with this season."
He concluded by saying: "When a team loses, the coach is the first to be blamed. But if you want true success, the entire system must be complete, including the administrative side. We need to think about a better situation for Al-Nassr next season, and I promise our fans that they will rejoice next season."
